Tomorrow’s Tech Day : Breakthroughs from the Sci-Fi Universe Becoming Reality

Science fiction is more than just a fancy way of telling made-up tales with a layer of pseudoscience sprinkled on top of it. Our futuristic imaginations for tomorrow’s tech devices are often inspired by sci-fi visuals. Although intergalactic travels as you’ve seen in Star Wars and teleportation as depicted in Star Trek are still beyond our technical capabilities, many of today’s most popular real-world gadgets and technological achievements were actually born in the sci-fi universe.

Mobile Phone

Let’s start with the ubiquitous one: the mobile phone. Characters in the Star Trek: The Original Series used the first fictional version of mobile phones, known simply as communicators. The first real-world working version of it, the Motorola DynaTAC, was invented in 1973. Of course, it wasn’t even close to the typical smartphone we know today. The DynaTAC weighed about 1.1kg and featured a talk time of just over 30 minutes. But all those numbers were pale compared to its thousands of dollars price tag.

Martin Cooper, the leader of the DynaTAC team, said that the bulky mobile phone was developed within a period of just 90 days. It’s believed, but never confirmed, that Cooper was inspired by a scene in Star Trek where Captain Kirk used his handheld communicator. According to Cooper himself, however, the original inspiration was the “wrist two-way radio” featured in a Dick Tracy comic strip. Either way, Star Trek had it close to reality.

Tablets

In case you complain repeatedly that your smartphone is nowhere near large enough, be grateful to Stanley Kubrick for giving the world the first ever idea of a tablet. In 2001: A Space Odyssey, which also is one of the all-time science fiction greats, Dr. Bowman and Dr. Poole were seen watching the news updates from flat-screen computers they called “newspads.” It took a long while until the first real newspad came to existence. With the release of the iPad (1st generation) in 2010, Apple claimed to have been the first to bring the idea to reality. Samsung could only complain, bring it to court for patent issues, and got dismissed. Tablets are not as popular as smartphones, but it doesn’t change the fact that they’re great handheld computers.

Driverless Cars

Events in the original Total Recall (1990) are set in 2084. Our protagonist Douglas Quaid finds himself trapped in the middle of a bizarre sci-fi environment on Mars. He is relentlessly chased by the bad guys and bumping into many things, including a driverless car. Sitting in the front seat is Johnny Cab, a humanoid that serves as the car’s computer system. Johnny isn’t actually a driver, but that artificial intelligence that controls the car. As soon as you give an address, Johnny activates the satellite navigation system, and you’re ready. Keep in mind that Douglas Quaid is portrayed by Arnold Schwarzenegger, so it’s reasonable to expect some verbal profanities.

In fact, he yells at Johnny and takes over the steering wheel before you realize it’s a driverless car. The technology is still in development, but a few well-funded companies, like Waymo (formerly Google Self-Driving Car Project) and Tesla, already have some prototypes running. The legality of driverless cars is fuzzy, however.

Digital Billboards

The original Blade Runner (1982) takes you to a futuristic Los Angeles where skyscrapers are standing as far as the eye can see. At the top of one of those buildings, you’ll see a massive cinematic billboard. Andrew Phipps Newman, the CEO of DOOH (Digital Out Of Home) took that as an inspiration and came up with his own idea of creative marketing through dynamic advertisement with the use of digital billboards. And now you can see them in just about every big city all around the world. It’s not yet a dystopia like in Blade Runner, but the digital billboards work just fine.

Space Stations

Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey didn’t just give us the tablets, but also an early idea of a Space Station. Orbiting the Earth in the film is the Space Station V, a massive establishment where astronauts can do their things in a low gravity environment. Some say that the actual International Space Station (ISS) was inspired by Space Station V. Of course, the fictional version appeared much more glamorous and luxurious, but the real one has accomplished more science. Since the start of its construction in 1988, the ISS has been at the forefront of microgravity research. And just like what Kubrick envisioned, a space station should serve as some kind of pit stop where astronauts can resupply and refuel during long space travel.

We think some science fiction stories have done a tremendous service to the technology industry and the human civilization at large with their ideas of engineering breakthroughs in various aspects of life. Some of the world’s greatest sci-fi authors came up with brilliant (fictional) innovations that later on became sources of inspirations for the well-funded tech wizards all around the world. A lot of those imaginary technologies have been materialized into real functional devices everybody can use today, while many others seem destined to be forever stuck within the pipe dream realm.

Other Things You Might Want to Know

Should we say that Stanley Kubrick (the director of 2001: Space Odyssey) invented the tablet?

Samsung apparently is in the position of supporting the idea that it really was Kubrick, rather than the engineers and designers at Apple, who invented the tablet. We don’t think Kubrick actually cared about it at all.

Is hoverboard real?

If you’re talking about the hoverboard like the one used by Marty McFly, no. That being said, there’s indeed a device that resembles the hoverboard in the real world. It’s called Hendo, developed by Arx Pax. Hendo does levitate, but it will only do so for about 10 minutes before it runs out of power. Hendo uses magnets to generate a concentrated field that can repel its own conductive material. It’s still in the early development phase, so it probably will take decades and millions of dollars before Hendo can really call itself a proper hoverboard.

Are there modern technologies inspired by Star Wars?

We still don’t have lightsabers, but thankfully Star Wars gave us the inspiration to develop the bionic limbs, which obviously are much more useful than even a rainbow lightsaber. When Luke Skywalker lost his right hand to Darth Vader, it was quickly replaced with a super-advanced prosthetic. Luke could control the prosthetic as if nothing had ever happened, of course. It even had touch-sensitive skin. Researchers from the Georgia Institute of Technology have been working on a similar technology that allows amputees to control every single prosthetic finger using ultrasonic sensors.

Description

Physically, Aayla Secura possesses a captivating presence. She has deep blue skin, which is a distinctive characteristic of the Twi’lek species, and her large lekku (head-tails) are gracefully adorned with decorative jewellery. Her piercing blue eyes reflect her inner determination and focus. Aayla has an athletic build, reflecting her agility and combat prowess.

Aayla is a Jedi Knight who serves as a General during the Clone Wars, a galactic conflict between the Republic and the Separatists. She exhibits remarkable combat skills, both with a lightsaber and through her mastery of the Force. Aayla is highly agile, using her acrobatic abilities to outmanoeuvre her opponents in battle. Jyn Erso: A Rebels Last Stand To Fight

Jyn Erso is a central character in the Star Wars standalone film “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” released in 2016. Although she only appeared in one movie across the franchise, her actions are pivotal for the series ahead. Here’s everything you need to know about the brave character: Jyn Erso!

Early Life

Jyn Erso was born on the planet Vallt. Her family later relocated to the remote world of Lah’mu to live in seclusion. Her father, Galen Erso, was a brilliant scientist and former Imperial researcher who had become disillusioned with the Empire’s plans for the Death Star, a massive planet-destroying weapon. To protect Jyn, Galen and her mother, Lyra, hid their true identities and lived a simple life on Lah’mu.

When Jyn was still a child, the Empire discovered Galen’s whereabouts and forcibly separated him from his family. Jyn witnessed her mother’s murder by Orson Krennic, an Imperial officer tasked with bringing Galen back to complete the Death Star project. Jyn narrowly escaped capture and was left alone on Lah’mu.

After her parent’s separation, Jyn was left to fend for herself on the fringes of society. She survived by engaging in petty crime and developing a street-smart and independent nature. During this time, Jyn associated with various criminal groups and operated under different aliases to avoid Imperial detection.

Rogue One

Jyn Erso, portrayed by actress Felicity Jones, is the main protagonist of the film. Set just before the events of the original film A New Hope, the movie follows Jyn’s journey as she becomes a key figure in the Rebel Alliance’s mission to steal the plans for the Death Star.

Jyn’s story begins with her being rescued from Imperial captivity by the Rebel Alliance. She reluctantly agrees to assist in the mission due to her personal connection to the project. Her father, Galen Erso, played a crucial role in designing the Death Star, and Jyn hopes to find him and discover the true nature of his involvement.

Throughout the film, Jyn demonstrates her resourcefulness, determination, and bravery as she leads a diverse group of rebels. She forms close bonds with her fellow team members, including Cassian Andor, K-2SO, Chirrut Îmwe, Baze Malbus, and Bodhi Rook. Together, they face numerous challenges, infiltrate Imperial facilities, and engage in intense battles against the Empire.

Princess Leia Organa is undoubtedly the most prolific female character to come out of the Star Wars Franchise. Leia closely relates to the Skywalker family tree and so has proved a reliable main character throughout the series. From “A New Hope” to “Rise of The Skywalker”, here is a complete timeline of Princess Leia’s time in the limelight!

Prequel Trilogy

Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Princess Leia Organa appears as a newborn baby. She is the daughter of Senator Padmé Amidala and Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, who becomes the Sith Lord Darth Vader. Amidst the turmoil of the Clone Wars and the rise of the Galactic Empire, Leia is adopted by Alderaan’s royal family and raised as a member of the Organa household.

Original trilogy

A New Hope (1977)

Princess Leia Organa, portrayed by Carrie Fisher, emerges as a central character. She is a leader in the Rebel Alliance, fighting against the oppressive rule of the Galactic Empire. When the Death Star captures her ship, Leia manages to hide the stolen plans for the ship within the droid R2-D2. Leia’s character showcases her strength, intelligence, and determination. She displays resourcefulness and resilience when the Falcon is pursued by Darth Vader and his forces. She actively contributes to the group’s survival and escapes. However, the film takes a shocking turn when Leia is captured by the Empire and taken to the menacing Darth Vader. Return of the Jedi (1983)

Leia, along with her companions Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Chewbacca, embarks on a mission to rescue Han from the clutches of the vile gangster Jabba the Hutt. Disguised as a bounty hunter, Leia successfully infiltrates Jabba’s palace and frees Han from his carbonite imprisonment. However, their escape plan is foiled. Leia becomes Jabba’s captive herself, donning the revealing slave costume that has become an iconic symbol.

Despite her temporary captivity, Leia remains strong-willed and resourceful. She takes advantage of an opportunity to strangle Jabba with her own chains. She frees herself and aids in the subsequent battle against Jabba’s forces. Leia’s role extends beyond her physical prowess as she continues to provide crucial support to the Rebellion. Whilst strategizing and leading the mission to destroy the Empire’s new Death Star.

Throughout the film, Leia’s character experiences significant growth. She confronts her conflicted feelings for Han Solo, revealing her love for him. Leia also discovers her true identity as the twin sister of Luke Skywalker, making her a direct relation to Darth Vader. This revelation reinforces her connection to the Force and positions her as a crucial element in the final confrontation between Luke and Vader.

Sequel trilogy

The Force Awakens (2015)

In the film, Leia plays a crucial role in the fight against the First Order. She sends her most trusted pilot, Poe Dameron, on a mission to retrieve a map that could reveal the whereabouts of her brother, Luke Skywalker. Leia’s character showcases her determination and resilience as she leads the Resistance and makes tough decisions to protect their cause.

Additionally, Leia faces personal challenges in “The Force Awakens.” She learns of the death of her estranged husband, Han Solo, at the hands of their son, Kylo Ren, who has succumbed to the dark side of the Force. Leia also demonstrates her powerful connection to the Force. When the Resistance ship is targeted and severely damaged, Leia is blasted into space. Miraculously, she survives and uses the Force to pull herself back to the ship, showcasing her latent abilities.

The Rise of Skywalker (2019)

One of the significant aspects of Leia’s character in “The Rise of Skywalker” is her connection with her son, Kylo Ren. Through the Force, she attempts to reach out to him and bring him back to the light. Her unconditional love for Kylo Ren drives her actions and underscores her belief in redemption.

Tragically, Leia’s character arc in the film is influenced by the unfortunate passing of Carrie Fisher. Despite the challenges faced during production, the film utilizes unused footage of Fisher from previous films to include Leia’s presence in the story. This approach allows Leia to have a meaningful impact on the events of “The Rise of Skywalker.”

Although the Star Wars franchise focuses primarily on the long feud between the Jedi and Sith, it’s dangerous to forget the creatures that can inhabit each planet. Star Wars is known for having various designs for creatures, each one more ferocious than the last. Considering we are dealing with a large expansive world, we definitely haven’t seen all the crazy creatures roaming the galaxy. However, here are 24 Star Wars Creatures to expand your knowledge of the universe at hand!

Star Wars Creatures

Acklay

The Acklay is a reptilian creature native to the planet Vendaxa. It has a crab-like exoskeleton, multiple limbs, and razor-sharp claws. Acklays are formidable predators and possess incredible speed and agility, making them dangerous opponents in combat.

Bantha

Banthas are large, shaggy mammalian creatures found on desert planets like Tatooine. They are often domesticated by Tusken Raiders and used as mounts or beasts of burden. Banthas have long, curved horns and are well-adapted to harsh desert environments.

Blurrgs are creatures with stout bodies, short legs, and long snouts. They are commonly found on the forest moon of Endor and other similar environments. Blurrgs are used as mounts by Ewoks and other inhabitants of the forest, thanks to their strength and agility.

Eopie

Nexu

Nexu are fierce feline creatures from the planet Cholganna. They have sharp claws, multiple limbs, and venomous fangs. Nexu are used as predatory animals in gladiatorial contests and have appeared in the arena battles of “Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones.”

Porg

Porgs are small, bird-like creatures native to the planet Ahch-To. They have large eyes, feathered bodies, and a distinct squawking sound. Porgs are known for their curious nature and were prominently featured in “Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi.”

Purrgil

Purrgils are enormous space-dwelling creatures with tentacles and bioluminescent features. They are capable of travelling through hyperspace and communicate through electromagnetic waves. Rancor

Rathtar

Reek

Star Wars Jedi Survivor: Amazing Improvements Shrouded Behind An Unoptimised Mess

Back in 2019, a new Star Wars IP was released to all platforms called Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. It saw players delve into the era of Order 66, where a Jedi named Cal Kestis survives the extinction of the Jedi. It was hard to pinpoint exactly what kind of game Fallen Order was. However, it took elements of action-adventure, and loot exploration and was inspired by soul-like games. With overwhelming reception from the community, a sequel game was a definite. Incomes the 2023 sequel Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, centred around Cal once again but now expanded in many areas. So far these expansions and the improvements from the first game have left fans overly pleased. The problem is that the fans that say this are in the minority as most people cannot play the game in its entirety, let alone for a few hours.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was released with primary problems with its PC port. Although these problems were the worst, consoles had problems too. Find out about the controversial release week of Jedi Survivor.

Game Overview

“Star Wars Jedi: Survivor” is an action-adventure video game set in the Star Wars universe. It was developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. The game takes place shortly after the events of Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Players assume the role of Cal Kestis, a young Jedi Padawan who survived the Jedi Purge.

As Cal, players must navigate their way through a variety of environments while utilizing his Jedi abilities, including combat with a lightsaber and use of the Force. Along the way, Cal is joined by a team of companions who aid him in his journey, each with their unique abilities and personalities.

The game features a non-linear structure, allowing players to explore different planets in any order they choose, each with its unique challenges and secrets to uncover. Subsequently, as players progress through the game, they can upgrade Cal’s abilities and weapons, allowing for more advanced combat tactics and exploration.

The story is driven by the player’s interactions with characters and the decisions they make throughout the game. This leads to multiple possible endings. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor delivers a compelling single-player experience that immerses players in the Star Wars universe. Additionally, this comes with stunning visuals, engaging gameplay, and a deep exploration of the themes of survival.

Improvements and Expansion

Environments

Although Survivor uses the same multi-planet system that the first game had, each planet is crafted in a more complex way. From the get-go, it is clear to see that the world has been expanded to an open world. Evidently, the first game thrived from its linear layout, but the open-world expansion of the sequel comes with its merit.

Combat

Jedi Survivor has now introduced a mechanic called Stances. This allows for the inclusion of several new lightsaber variants. For example; Crossquardf (similar to Kylo Ren) and Blaster/lightsaber duo. Each stance has different combat mechanics and special moves which enhances variability in gameplay.

Players will also experience new force techniques and an upgraded skill tree which will help to take down every droid in their sights.

Companions

Both Star Wars Jedi games thrive on their story and the characters in them. Survivor expands on this idea by introducing companions who will fight for your cause. From the very beginning of the game, you are shown this mechanic. It will allow you to order attacks from the companion that might make your battle easier to win.

On the story side, there is yet again a rich cast of characters that will help immerse you in the world of Star Wars.

Customisation

One critique many fans had of the first game was the lack of customisation. It’s true the player could pick up items from the world, but the customisation would be minimal.

Jedi Survivor allows the player to customise several things. This includes; the way Cal and BD look, lightsaber appearance, stance combinations and so much more.

Puzzles/Exploration

Although the first game had great puzzles and exploration, Survivor does it better due to the expansion of the world. Expect many elaborate puzzles which challenge the player coupled with the exploration around every corner

Technical Problems

That’s all well and good, but these points become meaningless if the majority of players cannot experience them.

Early previews and reviewers got hands-on with the day zero version of the game. For fans who couldn’t play yet, the overwhelmingly positive reviews that came flooding through unquestionably caused anticipation to skyrocket. However, the problem with the majority of game reviewers is that they play on consoles. Inherently, this is not a bad thing, however with the increase in dire PC ports, the reviews can come off as wide of the mark.

As of recent, we have seen some of the worst PC ports to come out of the industry. Games such as The Last Of Us Part 1 and Callisto Protocol were released to PC players in a horrendous state. Unfortunately, this seems to have become a common pattern now with the release of Jedi: Survivor, which in some ways is the most technically hindered game of the lot.

Jedi Surivor’s problem is optimisation. The game suffers from several issues such as stuttering, frame rate, pixilation blur and a lack of support. Some fans have even experienced constant crashing with no crash report, leaving fans to wonder what the problem is here. This questioning leads down a rabbit hole of different players experiencing different things, each with different capabilities and hardware. PC ports are a fickle thing as each person has different PC specs and hardware, so solutions won’t always work for everyone in need.

Around 4 days after the release, the first of the supposed many patches rolled through. Over a two-day period, both the PC and Console ports were improved. The PC got a vague patch note labelling the patch as having “Performance improvements for non-raytraced rendering”. Unsurprisingly, this patch caused more problems for several fans stated that problems that were already there got even worse, and new problems had now sprouted. As of right now, no new patches have been released, however many fans have been able to reach the end and are now talking about new game+. Undeniably though, there is still a wide range of fans who are still experiencing problems within a few hours of the story.

Here are a few things that can help your game:

Repair game files and/or verify game files
Run as Administrator
Update graphics driver
Set game to High Priority

Although each experience is different, in some cases the player may have to wait for more patches to surface, a consequence of PC volatility.

There is a silver lining to this whole situation thankfully. Alongside the release of Jedi: Survivor, another game was released called Redfall. A big game for Microsoft has been reviewed bombed with negative critique. In summary, Redfall lacks substances and gameplay that you would expect from a $70 dollar price tag. Redfall also came with its fair share of technical issues, however, these issues do not surmount to the amount Survivor has. Even though these technical issues can be fixed, the gameplay substance is a bigger issue and will put off new players even if Redfall runs smoothly. Survivor does not have this problem. Amongst the complaints of technical issues, Survivor is flooded with positive praise for how it improved from the last game. It has amazing combat, customisation, exploration and a rich story. And so, in the likely scenario that Survivor’s technical issues get patched out, the players are left with an amazing game to explore.

If you’re a returning fan or someone only just entering the world of Star Wars, most characters may be left forgotten. We’ve got a bunch of Villains lined up to talk about how they thrive in the force-abundant world of Star Wars.

The Bad Batch

Cad Bane

He is a skilled and ruthless bounty hunter who first appeared in the animated TV series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”. He is often hired by various clients to capture or assassinate targets, and he has a reputation for completing his missions at all costs, even if it means betraying his employers.

Darth Bane

Darth Bane is known for being the “founder” of the Sith Rule of Two. He was the first Sith Lord to adhere to this rule and trained several apprentices, including Darth Zannah. Bane died in battle with the Jedi, but his legacy continued through the Sith Order he founded.

Bossk

He is a member of the Trandoshan species and is known for his ruthless nature and skill in hunting down his targets. Bossk first appeared in the original Star Wars trilogy as one of the bounty hunters hired by Darth Vader to track down the Millennium Falcon. He also appeared in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, where he was shown to have a history of working with other bounty hunters, including Boba Fett.

Count Dooku

He was a Jedi Master who became disillusioned with the Jedi Order and eventually became a Sith Lord, serving as the apprentice of Darth Sidious. Dooku played a significant role in the Clone Wars, leading the Separatist movement against the Galactic Republic. Dooku is known for his mastery of the lightsaber and his political cunning. (He was also known as Darth Tyranus).

Boba Fett

He is a notorious bounty hunter known for his distinctive armour, helmet, and weaponry, as well as his stoic demeanour and impressive tracking abilities. He was hired by the Galactic Empire and worked for Jabba the Hutt before meeting his apparent demise in “Return of the Jedi.”

Jango Fett

He was a notorious bounty hunter and mercenary, known for his exceptional skills in combat and marksmanship. Jango was a Mandalorian. He was hired by Darth Tyranus to be the template for the clone army that would later be used by the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars. His most famous cline was another feared bounty hunter: Boba Fett.

Moff Gideon

He is a high-ranking member of the Imperial remnant and is determined to capture the series’ titular character, the Mandalorian, in order to obtain the valuable asset he is protecting: a young Force-sensitive child known as “The Child” or “Baby Yoda”. Moff Gideon is shown to be a ruthless and cunning strategist, willing to do whatever it takes to achieve his goals, including deploying stormtroopers and a variety of other resources to track down and capture his targets.

General Grevious

He is a cyborg and a skilled warrior who served as the Supreme Commander of the Droid Army of the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. He was originally a Kaleesh warrior named Qymaen jai Sheelal, but after a series of injuries sustained during the Huk War, he was reconstructed as a cyborg by the InterGalactic Banking Clan.

Jabba The Hutt

He is a large, slug-like creature and a notorious crime lord in the galaxy. Jabba is depicted as a powerful and ruthless figure, with a penchant for violence, bribery, and enslavement. He resides on his home planet of Tatooine and is often surrounded by his entourage of loyal henchmen and slaves.

General Armitage Hux

He is a ruthless and ambitious military leader who is fiercely loyal to Supreme Leader Snoke and later, Kylo Ren. He is the commander of the Starkiller Base, a massive superweapon capable of destroying entire planets, and plays a key role in the First Order’s efforts to defeat the Resistance and establish control over the galaxy. Despite his success on the battlefield, Hux is shown to be deeply insecure and prone to angry outbursts when his authority is challenged.

The Grand Inquisitor

The Grand Inquisitor is a Pau’an and a former Jedi Temple Guard who later joined the Sith and became an agent of the Galactic Empire. He is tasked with hunting down and capturing any remaining Jedi after the fall of the Jedi Order. The Grand Inquisitor is a skilled fighter and is particularly adept at lightsaber combat.

Darth Maul

He first appeared in the 1999 film “Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace” as the apprentice of the Sith Lord, Darth Sidious. Maul is a Dathomirian Zabrak and is known for his menacing appearance, including his red and black facial tattoos and his double-bladed lightsaber.

Darth Nihilus

He was a member of the Sith Order who was corrupted by the dark side of the Force and became a powerful and terrifying force user. Nihilus was unique in that he had the ability to consume the Force energy of living beings, leaving them as empty husks. This ability allowed him to become an incredibly powerful force user, but also made him unstable and reliant on constantly feeding on the Force.

Captain Phasma

She is a female stormtrooper who serves as a high-ranking officer in the First Order, a military organization formed from the remnants of the Galactic Empire. Phasma is known for her distinctive silver armour and strict adherence to First Order protocol, as well as her ruthless and efficient leadership style. She is initially tasked with hunting down the film’s protagonist, Finn, who defects from the First Order and joins the Resistance, but she is ultimately bested in combat and thrown into a trash compactor by Finn and his allies

Darth Plagueis

He is a Sith Lord who is known for his immense power in the dark side of the Force, as well as his ability to manipulate midi-chlorins to create life and cheat death. Plagueis takes Darth Sidious as his apprentice and teaches him the ways of the dark side, but Sidious eventually betrays and kills him in his sleep, taking his place as the new Sith Lord.

Kylo Ren

He is the main antagonist of the sequel trilogy and a member of the Knights of Ren, a group of dark-side warriors. Kylo Ren is the son of Han Solo and Princess Leia Organa, and his birth name is Ben Solo. He is trained in the ways of the Force by his uncle, Luke Skywalker, but turns to the dark side and becomes a follower of Supreme Leader Snoke. Kylo Ren is known for his signature crossguard lightsaber, his unstable personality, and his internal struggle between the light and dark sides of the Force.

Darth Revan

He was a Jedi Knight who fell to the dark side of the Force and became a Sith Lord. Revan was known for his tactical genius and leadership abilities, and he was a key figure in the Mandalorian Wars. He eventually returned to the light side of the Force and played a pivotal role in defeating the Sith Empire.

Darth Sidious

He is the main antagonist of the original trilogy and the prequel trilogy and is the Sith Lord who manipulates the events leading up to the fall of the Galactic Republic and the rise of the Galactic Empire. Sidious is known for his immense power in the dark side of the Force, as well as his cunning and manipulative nature. He is a skilled politician and strategist, and uses his position as Senator and later Chancellor of the Republic to gain power and influence. Sidious takes Anakin Skywalker as his apprentice, turning him to the dark side and leading to his transformation into Darth Vader. He is also the mastermind behind the creation of the Clone Wars and the extermination of the Jedi Order.

Supreme Leader Snoke

He is a mysterious figure who is highly skilled in the dark side of the Force, and he serves as the master to Kylo Ren, one of the trilogy’s main villains. Snoke is shown to be physically scarred and disfigured, and he projects a powerful and intimidating presence, making him a feared and respected figure among the First Order’s ranks. However, his true origins and motivations are shrouded in mystery, and he is ultimately revealed to be a puppet created by Emperor Palpatine to manipulate and control the First Order.

Grand Moff Tarkin

Tarkin is the commander of the Death Star, a massive superweapon capable of destroying entire planets, and he plays a key role in the Empire’s efforts to defeat the Rebel Alliance and establish control over the galaxy. Tarkin is shown to be a cunning and calculating strategist who is willing to take extreme measures to achieve his goals, including the use of the Death Star to destroy the planet Alderaan as a show of force. Despite his success on the battlefield, Tarkin meets his demise in the original Star Wars film, A New Hope, when the Rebel Alliance launches a successful attack on the Death Star, causing it to explode with Tarkin aboard.

Darth Vader

He is one of the most iconic villains in cinema history and one of the central characters of the original trilogy. Darth Vader is a Sith Lord who serves as the right-hand man of Emperor Palpatine, the ruler of the Galactic Empire. He is known for his distinctive black armour and mask, his intimidating presence, and his exceptional skills as a warrior and a user of the dark side of the Force. Darth Vader is also characterized by his tragic backstory as Anakin Skywalker, a former Jedi Knight who turned to the dark side and became Darth Vader after succumbing to fear, anger and despair.

Asajj Ventress

She is a Dathomirian assassin and a former Sith apprentice who becomes a key player in the Clone Wars, a conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Asajj is known for her exceptional skills as a warrior and her strong connection to the dark side of the Force, as well as her fierce independence and her ruthless tactics in battle. She is also characterized by her tragic backstory as a survivor of the brutal Nightsisters clan and her subsequent betrayal by her Sith master, Count Dooku. Asajj becomes a formidable opponent of the Jedi Order and the Republic, but she also forms unexpected alliances with characters such as Jedi Knight Quinlan Vos and bounty hunter Boba Fett.

Dryden Vos

Vos is a ruthless and charismatic crime lord who leads the Crimson Dawn, a powerful criminal syndicate operating in the galaxy. He is a collector of rare and valuable items, and he hires Han Solo, and his crew to steal a shipment of valuable coaxium fuel for him. However, Vos is shown to be highly unpredictable, and he betrays and double-crosses his allies and enemies alike, making him a dangerous and unpredictable figure.

Darth Zannah

She is a female Sith Lord and the apprentice of Darth Bane, who she later kills in accordance with the Sith’s Rule of Two. Zannah is known for her mastery of Sith magic, including the ability to create illusions and control the minds of others. She is also a skilled lightsaber duelist and assassin and is feared throughout the galaxy for her ruthlessness and cunning.
