The Star Wars Universe is sprawling with an enormous amount of characters, on both sides of the force. If you’re a returning fan or someone only just entering the world of Star Wars, most characters may be left forgotten. We’ve got a bunch of characters lined up to talk about how they thrive in the force-abundant world of Star Wars.

Padme Amidala
She was a former Queen and later Senator of Naboo, and played a key role in the Clone Wars. Padmé formed a romantic relationship with Anakin Skywalker, which ultimately led to tragedy. She was portrayed by actress Natalie Portman in the Star Wars prequel trilogy.
Queen Breha Antilles (Organa)
She was the ruler of the planet Alderaan and the wife of Senator Bail Organa. She played a big role in the Rebel Alliance, providing support and resources to the movement. Sadly, Queen Breha and the people of Alderaan were killed when the planet was destroyed by the Death Star in “Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope.”
Cad Bane
He is a skilled and ruthless bounty hunter who first appeared in the animated TV series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”. He is often hired by various clients to capture or assassinate targets, and he has a reputation for completing his missions at all costs, even if it means betraying his employers.
Darth Bane
Darth Bane is known for being the “founder” of the Sith Rule of Two. He was the first Sith Lord to adhere to this rule and trained several apprentices, including Darth Zannah. Bane died in battle with the Jedi, but his legacy continued through the Sith Order he founded.
BB-8
BB-8 is a spherical astromech droid that serves as a loyal companion to Resistance pilot Poe Dameron. It has a unique design with a round body that can roll and a head that can swivel, giving it a lot of mobility. BB-8 has a variety of tools and abilities, including a torch, an electric prod, and the ability to project holographic messages.
Jar Jar Binks
He is a clumsy, bumbling Gungan from the planet Naboo who becomes an unlikely ally of the Jedi Order. Jar Jar Binks is known for his distinctive voice, exaggerated physical movements, and comedic antics, but he is also a controversial character among Star Wars fans. (He also may be a Sith Lord.)
C-3P0
He is a humanoid protocol droid, designed to assist in etiquette, customs, and translation. Lando Calrissian

Jango Fett
He was a notorious bounty hunter and mercenary, known for his exceptional skills in combat and marksmanship. Jango was a Mandalorian. He was hired by Darth Tyranus to be the template for the clone army that would later be used by the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars. His most famous cline was another feared bounty hunter: Boba Fett.
Boba Fett
He is a notorious bounty hunter known for his distinctive armour, helmet, and weaponry, as well as his stoic demeanour and impressive tracking abilities. He was hired by the Galactic Empire and worked for Jabba the Hutt before meeting his apparent demise in “Return of the Jedi.”
Finn (FN-2187)
He was a former stormtrooper who defected from the First Order and joined the Resistance. Finn goes from a disillusioned stormtrooper to a heroic member of the Resistance, fighting against the First Order and ultimately playing a pivotal role in the defeat of the evil Empire.
Kit Fisto

The Grand Inquisitor is a Pau’an and a former Jedi Temple Guard who later joined the Sith and became an agent of the Galactic Empire. He is tasked with hunting down and capturing any remaining Jedi after the fall of the Jedi Order. The Grand Inquisitor is a skilled fighter and is particularly adept at lightsaber combat.
Jabba The Hutt
He is a large, slug-like creature and a notorious crime lord in the galaxy. Jabba is depicted as a powerful and ruthless figure, with a penchant for violence, bribery, and enslavement. He resides on his home planet of Tatooine and is often surrounded by his entourage of loyal henchmen and slaves.
Qui Gon Jinn
He is a Jedi Master known for his unorthodox methods and his willingness to challenge the Jedi Council’s rules and traditions. He discovers a young Anakin Skywalker on Tatooine and believes him to be the Chosen One who will bring balance to the Force. Qui-Gon is a skilled warrior and a master of the Jedi mind trick.
Obi-Wan Kenobi
Obi-Wan was a Padawan learner under Qui-Gon Jinn before becoming a mentor to Anakin Skywalker. He played a significant role in the Clone Wars and was instrumental in defeating the Sith Lord, Darth Maul. After the fall of the Republic and the rise of the Empire, he went into hiding on the planet Tatooine, where he watched over Luke Skywalker from a distance.
Plo Koon
He is a member of the Jedi Order and serves as a Jedi Master and General in the Clone Wars. Plo Koon is known for his distinctive appearance, including a mask and goggles that help him breathe in environments with low oxygen levels, as well as his calm and wise demeanour. He is also known for his skill in the use of the Force and his proficiency with a lightsaber.
Darth Maul
He first appeared in the 1999 film “Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace” as the apprentice of the Sith Lord, Darth Sidious. Maul is a Dathomirian Zabrak and is known for his menacing appearance, including his red and black facial tattoos and his double-bladed lightsaber.
Savage Opress
He is a Dathomirian Zabrak who was selected by Asajj Ventress to become her apprentice and serve as a tool for her revenge against Count Dooku. Through a combination of Sith magic and physical augmentation, Savage became a powerful warrior, capable of holding his own against even the most skilled Jedi. He eventually betrayed Ventress and aligned himself with Dooku, but was later betrayed and killed by his former master.
Bail Organa
He is a senator from the planet Alderaan and a member of the Galactic Senate during the final years of the Galactic Republic. Organa is one of the early supporters of the Rebel Alliance, secretly helping to fund and organize the group’s efforts against the oppressive Empire. He is also the adoptive father of Princess Leia, whom he takes in at the end of Episode III after her biological mother, Padmé Amidala, dies in childbirth.
Leia Organa
She is a member of the royal family of the planet Alderaan, a skilled fighter, and a leader in the Rebel Alliance against the Galactic Empire. Leia is known for her bravery, intelligence, and strong will, as well as her signature hairstyle and white robes.
Paploo
He is an Ewok, a small, furry species that live on the forest moon of Endor. Paploo is known for his mischievous and playful nature and his skills as a scout and thief. He aids the Rebel Alliance in their mission to destroy the Empire’s Death Star by leading them through the Ewok village and helping them take down Imperial forces. Paploo is also known for his iconic scene where he steals a speeder bike from Imperial scouts, leading them on a wild chase through the forest.
Darth Plagueis
He is a Sith Lord who is known for his immense power in the dark side of the Force, as well as his ability to manipulate midi-chlorins to create life and cheat death. Plagueis takes Darth Sidious as his apprentice and teaches him the ways of the dark side, but Sidious eventually betrays and kills him in his sleep, taking his place as the new Sith Lord.
R2-D2
An astromech, known for his loyalty, bravery, and resourcefulness, as well as his distinctive beeps and whistles that serve as his mode of communication. He is often paired with his counterpart, the protocol droid C-3PO. R2-D2 is equipped with a variety of tools and gadgets that allow him to repair spacecraft and other machinery, as well as hack into computer systems and communicate with other droids.
Kylo Ren
